Can autistic traits predict changes to symptoms of Parkinson’s as people age?
A researcher at the University of Nottingham is interested in seeing how memory and thinking problems change over time, and investigate whether there is a connection between these problems, autistic traits and Parkinson’s.
This project builds on previous research exploring the effects of ageing on people who are neurodivergent, which means someone's brain processes, learns, or behaves differently from what is considered "typical”.
70 people with Parkinson’s who are over the age of 45 and don't have a formal diagnosis of autism.
