Benefits of working for us
We're committed to creating a positive working culture for all our employees, as well as a good work-life balance.
Here are some of the benefits of working for Parkinson's UK.
Learning and development
Ensuring the continuous development of our employees is a key part of our charity's strategy.
We offer a variety of in-house training, as well as the opportunity for staff to apply for role-specific external and long-term courses.
We offer 25 days' annual leave per annum plus recognised bank and public holidays and 3 additional mandatory days between Christmas and New Year.
Your annual leave entitlement increases to 26 days after completing 2 years' service and 27 days after completing 4 years' service.
If you work part-time your annual leave will be represented in hours.
We contribute up to 6% of basic salary into a group personal pension plan.
Contributions are matched on a 2 to 1 basis. For example, if you pay 1% of your salary, we will pay 2%.
Employee assistance programme
In addition to legal and financial advice, a free, confidential counselling service is available to all staff.
This is provided by Insight Healthcare.
death in service
This is an insurance cover which will pay 4 times your salary for employees between 16 and 70. This applies from your first day of employment.
Interest free season ticket loan
We offer an interest free loan for annual season tickets for travelling to work within London, after successful completion of the probationary period.
Interest free education loan
As part of our commitment and investment in our employees, we also welcome applications from employees for long-term study programmes.
Our flexi-time scheme offers employees a degree of flexibility in their start and finish times. It also offer the possibility of accumulating some hours each flexi period to be taken back at an agreed time.
The Ride2Work scheme with Evans Cycles takes advantage of the Government's Green Transport Plan.
The scheme promotes cycling as a more attractive way of commuting to work by enabling employees to benefit from tax incentives.
Home based working
About two thirds of our roles at Parkinson's UK are home-based, with office facilities set up within staff members' homes.
