Understanding how people with Parkinson’s manage their emotions
Emotion is part of daily life and the way we respond to our emotions impacts our mental health and wellbeing. Researchers at the University of Reading want to understand how people with Parkinson’s manage their emotions and how this impacts their wellbeing and quality of life.
They are also interested in the strategies people with Parkinson’s use to cope with their emotions.
• 70 people with Parkinson’s
• 70 people without Parkinson’s
To take part, you need access to a computer or laptop. Tablets (such as an iPad) can be used if connected to a keyboard (e.g., via Bluetooth).
A 1-hour online meeting with the researcher where you will be asked to:
• answer questions about daily living
• complete 3 thinking and memory tasks and 1 emotion regulation task
Following the meeting, you will be asked to complete a series of surveys within 1 week of taking part. The surveys will take around 35 minutes to complete.
