Is your NHS organisation taking action on time critical Parkinson’s medication?

On World Parkinson's Day 2022, the NHS Professionals - Living and working with Parkinson's group launched a major time critical medication campaign, supported by Parkinson's UK. The campaign asked NHS chief executives to consider the importance of people with Parkinson's getting their Parkinson's medication on time, every time, in hospital.

Since the campaign launch, over 100 chief executives of acute healthcare trusts and boards, regional ambulance services, and chief nursing officers across all 4 nations have pledged their support on behalf of their organisations to administer time critical medication on time. Find out more about the campaign.

The map below shows the NHS organisations that have pledged their support. A number of these organisations have taken the next step and are now actively benchmarking against the 10 recommendations for hospitals.

It’s a positive step which captures the work you’re already doing and demonstrates that your organisation is taking action on this issue which is growing in support. The NHS professionals behind this campaign

In 2022 the NHS Professionals - Living and working with Parkinson's group launched a major time critical medication campaign with the support of Parkinson's UK.

The group released a short video on social media called ‘Time Matters: It’s Critical’ explaining the importance of getting the medication on time, every time, from a patient perspective.

Members of the group then contacted hospital chief executives and NHS executives across the UK, asking them to watch the video and to personally pledge support for the campaign on behalf of their organisation. The campaign was given a further boost by Parkinson's UK with its inclusion in World Parkinson's Day 2022.

Since then the number of NHS organisations taking the pledge has continued to grow.
