Available in long-form (CAPS-54) and short-form (CAPS-24), the scale contains statements about the experience of anxiety and Parkinson’s.
The scale covers anxiety triggers, the impact of the environment and Parkinson’s symptoms on the person’s mood, feelings and behaviour, and invites the patient to rate their experiences.
It's available to use without a licence and free of charge.
You can find the scale in the supplementary materials section of the linked paper, originally published in Disability and Rehabilitation (December 2024):
Researchers at the University of East Anglia developed the scale with the aim of helping mental health providers better tailor interventions to the specific form of anxiety that their patients with Parkinson’s may experience.
It was produced using contributions from people with Parkinson’s and anxiety, recruited through the Parkinson's UK's Research Support Network and local groups.
