The event, hosted by the Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) Parkinson's CEN, including specialist speech and language therapists Caroline Bartliff, Joanne Marshall and Anna Tucker, will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams.

It aims to enable delegates to develop their knowledge of the current evidence base, learn more about what funded projects their peers are working on and then take this learning back to their local services.

This event supports speech and language therapists and allied healthcare professionals with their continuing professional development (CPD) to support, signpost and improve outcomes for people with Parkinson's.

The day will include:

  • An update from Alison Attenborough on her project focused on introducing Expiratory muscle strength training (EMST) to the SLT Parkinson’s service provision in Berkshire.
  • A session from Samantha Elandary, CEO and founder of the SPEAK OUT!® therapy programme
  • A series of 'lightning talks' from the leads of speech and language therapy projects funded through the Excellence Network project grants scheme.
  • An update from the Parkinson's UK Excellence Network.
