BEGREW: Supporting carers mental health through guided writing

A PhD researcher from the University of Reading wants to find out if reflective writing is beneficial for carers of people with Parkinson’s. The study aims to build on previous research that guided writing may be beneficial for carers of people with other conditions. 

They will explore the impact of an online Brief Exercise in Guided and Reflective Writing (BEGREW) on the wellbeing of Parkinson’s caregivers.  

Who

•  140 unpaid carers of people with Parkinson’s who have access to the internet and an email address
 

What

•  Completing 4 online guided-writing exercises over 2 weeks 

•  Completing 2 surveys about yourself and your mood that will take between 5 and 10 minutes to complete 

•  Attending an optional 1-hour interview to talk about your experience of taking part in the study
