Parkinson’s UK educational bursaries help health and social care professionals and students participate in education and conference activities. They are available throughout the year.

About the fellowships
Our Advanced clinical training fellowships are for UK-based specialist trainees who anticipate a career in Parkinson’s and Movement disorders and aim to cultivate their knowledge and leadership skills to shape the future of Parkinson’s care.
Parkinson’s UK, through the Excellence Network, awards fellowships in 3 specialties - Neurology, Geriatric medicine, and Psychiatry.
We work closely with leading experts and the Association of British Neurologists, the British Geriatrics Society and the Royal College of Psychiatrists to administer and award the fellowships through annual cycles. The number of fellowships we can award each year depends on our funding for that year so we can’t guarantee that there will be a round for each of the specialties every year.

2025 fellowships

Advanced clinical training fellowship in Parkinson's and related movement disorders (geriatric medicine)
In partnership with the British Geriatrics Society, we're now inviting applications for 2025 from geriatric medicine specialist trainees who wish to undertake advanced clinical training in Parkinson’s in the UK.
This bursary is for health or social care professionals who want to attend a conference or undertake training and need some financial assistance. The bursary can be used to cover conference or course fees, travel or accommodation.

Several external professional organisations and charitable trusts also have funding opportunities for health and social care professionals and students who want to participate in education, career development or research.
The British Dietetic Association General and Education Trust Fund (BDA GET) exists to advance education and other charitable purposes related to the science of dietetics.
The British Geriatrics Society (BGS) administers a number of grants, prizes and awards with a view to encouraging high quality research and furthering the development of professionals with an interest in older people's healthcare. These include a limited number of grants to trained nurses and therapists (and nurses and therapists in training) with a special interest in the care of elderly people to attend meetings or to visit services with an innovative approach.
The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Charitable Trust is an independent charitable organisation and supports the advancement of physiotherapy education and research through annual awards made to student, associate and qualified members.
The Churchill Fellowship funds British citizens who live in the UK, to travel overseas to study areas of topical and personal interest, to gain knowledge and bring back best practice for the benefit of others, their profession and community.

It offers a number of bursaries to fund a wide variety of learning, development and research opportunities providing the support individuals need to make a difference to quality patient care.
Skills for Care can help fund those working in adult social care to develop the knowledge, skills and practical abilities needed to deliver quality care.
