Assessing mood and behaviour using a smartphone application
The research team at University College London have developed a smartphone application with a series of short decision-making games and surveys.
The aim of the research is to try and understand how neurological conditions, including Parkinson’s, influence mood and decision-making.
People living in the UK aged between 18-80 who have access to an iPhone/iPad or Android smartphone/tablet, and belong to any one of the following groups:
• 300 people with Parkinson’s
• 300 people unaffected by any psychiatric or neurological condition
• 300 people with a history of anxiety or mood disorder but no diagnosis of a neurological condition
You will be asked to download an app to your smartphone or tablet and asked to play a short decision-making game and complete surveys that take 3-5 minutes each. The time spent on the app will be no more than 10 minutes per day for the duration of the 3-week study. No previous experience in playing smartphone games is required.
