Poems for Parkinson's
It’s your Parkinson’s story. Tell the world how Parkinson’s has affected you or someone you care about in a poem.
Poems are a way for the Parkinson's community to express their creativity and their feelings.
The Parkinson's community shared hundreds of poems with us for World Parkinson's Day 2022 and 2023. Happy, funny, sad and thoughtful, you shared your stories and told the world how Parkinson's has affected you or someone you love.
Many poems were shared on social media and on billboards across the UK. And in 2023, we featured on the iconic Piccadilly Lights in central London.
Read poems from the Parkinson's community
A group of poets with Parkinson's came together to create a selection of poems from World Parkinson's Day 2023. The poems reflect many voices and experiences of Parkinson’s. They are grouped by themes all about what it’s like to “Be” living with Parkinson’s.
You can read them here. You can also download them and print them to share with friends or family.
Watch and listen to poems
See the poem written by people with Parkinson’s for World Parkinson's Day.
Hear from people at the Piccadilly Lights explaining what it meant to be there on the night and to see their words on the screen.
Stories are even more powerful when read aloud. We worked with the Parkinson's community to capture their poems on video.
