Top tips on beating your fundraising target
Top tips on beating your fundraising target and bringing breakthroughs closer.
How to beat your target
Peter and Val share their tips on how they smashed their target of £300 raising an incredible £788.20 during the recent Wilton walk.
1. Get as many people walking with you as possible. And encourage those walking to seek sponsorship from their friends.
2. Use JustGiving or other online fundraising pages to manage your donations.
3. Ask your relatives, friends, work colleagues, old school/college/university friends to sponsor you.
4. Trawl your contacts list for likely sponsors.
5. Use emails, Facebook, Snapchat, WhatsApp and any other social media to spread the message.
6. Raise money through alternative means. In my case, my Grandchildren ran a “Treasure Hunt” stall at their local village fete.
7. Contact people you've sponsored for their particular charity and ask them to return the favour by sponsoring you.
8. Make an appeal for sponsorship to local friends. I asked my fellow churchgoers to sponsor me; but you could also try friends in a pub.
9. Keep your JustGiving page up to date.
10. Send out reminders to those who have yet to sponsor you about 3 weeks before the walk.
11. Send out a thank you note once you have completed the walk thanking your sponsors and telling them how much you've raised.
