Have your say: New survey to help shape the UK government’s plans for improving the NHS in England

The UK government is expected to announce a 10-Year Health Plan for the NHS in England later this year. Here's how you can help decide on the priorities for change.

What is the 10-Year Health Plan?

The UK government is creating a 10-Year Health Plan to fix the NHS in England. In October 2024, it launched the largest public conversation in the NHS's history to help shape the plan, which has already received over 175,000 contributions.

The UK government has suggested 3 big changes to the way health and care services should work:

  • Moving more care from hospitals to communities.
  • Making better use of technology in health and care.
  • Focusing on preventing illnesses from getting worse.

We've hosted workshops with people with Parkinson’s, their care partners, and health professionals, and fed their ideas into the UK government’s plans. Read more about what we want to see in the 10-Year Health Plan.

Have your say on the UK government’s plans

The UK government has developed some ideas for change based on the insights it has received so far. It's now asking for your views on the priorities for change. We’re encouraging as many people as possible to share their thoughts so that the changes make a real difference to the care people with Parkinson’s receive.

To share your views, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Change NHS website.
  2. Click 'Take the survey' at the bottom of the page to share your views.
  3. Log in to your account if you're already registered, or sign up if you don’t have an account by entering your details.
  4. Share your thoughts on the ideas for change through the online form.

The survey closes at 5pm on Monday 14 April.

Danni Manzi, Associate Director of Policy and Health Strategy at Parkinson’s UK, said:

"The UK government has generated ideas to fix the NHS in England based on responses from thousands of people. This is your opportunity to make sure that these ideas improve the care that people with Parkinson’s receive.

"Do take part through the Change NHS website, so that the UK government prioritises the changes that would make the greatest difference to Parkinson’s care."
