Capturing your experiences of the rising cost of living
We are starting to hear how the rising cost of living is impacting people with Parkinson’s. We want to hear how it’s affecting you, so we can use it in our work to make sure governments across the UK better support you.
As you’ll be aware, energy costs and food prices are rising quickly and we are hearing from our community that they’re struggling to cope.
One carer told us that she and her husband, "... are struggling to make ends meet each month. We live on a strict budget week by week. We can’t afford luxuries anymore and as we hit the colder weather, we are dreading trying to stay warm without finding ourselves choosing between heating and eating."
Working with other charities to amplify our voices
That’s why Parkinson's UK is working alongside 100 other charities including Scope, Macmillan, Carers UK and Shelter to call on governments across the UK to commit to making sure that everyone who needs it is properly supported when they hit hard times.
To do this most effectively, we need to hear from you. Share your experience with us.
Are you concerned about increasing energy costs? Are you cutting back on food or other items?
Only with your experiences can we tell the governments across the UK and the new Prime Minister what the very real impact of increasing living costs is on people with Parkinson’s and those who support them.
