Course for GPs Developed in Northern Ireland Goes Live Across UK

Date

A new online course has been developed by the UK Parkinson's Excellence Network, in collaboration with Northern Ireland Macmillan GP Facilitators. The course offers GPs a convenient, free way to enhance their Parkinson's knowledge.

The course, available through the Excellence Network learning hub, is centred around a 30-minute presentation, with signposting to further resources, including case study videos from family carers.

The new course focuses on advanced stage Parkinson's, supporting GPs to implement best practice for patients living with the complexities of this stage of the condition.

Starting with a brief overview of Parkinson's, the course presentation covers management and support needs in advanced Parkinson's, the impact of progression on both people with Parkinson's and carers/family members, and advanced decision plans.
