World Parkinson's Day
World Parkinson’s Day is on Friday 11 April 2025. We’ve got everything you need to raise funds and awareness to improve life for people with Parkinson’s.
James Parkinson’s ‘Essay on the Shaking Palsy’, published in 1817, recognised Parkinson’s as a medical condition for the first time. We mark his birthday every 11 April with World Parkinson’s Day, a day to shine a spotlight on Parkinson’s and bring the community together.
This is your chance to create a greater understanding of the challenges people with Parkinson’s and their loved ones face every day. It’s also a brilliant opportunity to raise vital funds for research into groundbreaking new treatments and life-changing support services.
We’re excited to see the fantastic ways you can get involved.
How you can help
By raising awareness or fundraising on this important day, you’ll be joining a big community of people who share a vision of a future without Parkinson’s.
We've created a World Parkinson's Day guide, detailing some of the ways you can help. This can include a bake sale, hosting an awareness stand or a sponsored walk.
You can also tell the press or invite your local politician to your activity.
Big or small, whatever you choose to do, you’ll be making a difference for the Parkinson’s community.
